Twelve quilts, each 8.5 x 11 inches, one for each month were bound into a book, Water Lily Pages. Originally, the quilts were designed for the "Journal Quilt Project, 2002" and exhibited at the IQA show in Houston, TX. I chose the theme of water lilies to unify the collection. To limit the amount of time spent of the project; my personal rules were to spend only one day on each quilt. They were made quickly, with some machine embroidery and quilting, others used digital images and bead, all the edges were finished with a pink edge instead of binding. They are shown here in order, the month is quilted into the lower right hand corner. Three years later, cover quilts for the front and back were added to complete the volume. |
