Evening Water Lilies by Ann Fahl
My recent area of interest, is water lilies. This quilt was inspired by a lovely red Japanese floral fabric that I chose for the border. The machine embroidery on the lily pads is done in metallic threads, the flowers are detailed in red, pink and rose; the ducks are satin stitched in gold thread. When the quilt was finished it reminded me of how everything on the water turns orange or rose at sunset, hence the title. In a private collection.
