Beaded Improvisation III by Ann Fahl
As a quilter, I have lots of little scraps and I love to bead. This colorful piece combines them both! Hand dyed fabric shapes are fused and stitched onto a black background. Using iridescent glass beads I "embroidered" them over top of the fabric shapes.
I love the sparkly effect that the hand beading adds to this simple structure. The background adds dramatic contrast to the entire arrangement. The machine quilting echos the shapes and adds texture to the outer border. Bias bound in black.
