This small piece began with a pieced nine-patch block which was left over from a quilt called, “Dancing Ginkgoes.” I set it in 4 black half-square corners, and added iridescent bugle beads in curved lines that circle around the block. Because it is such a happy quilt, I chose a multi bright variegated thread to quilt the entire piece. Only the yellow center square was quilted with a yellow variegated thread. I chose to use a leaf quilting design to fill the empty spaces, hence the title. It is bound with a black, gray, green and blue commercial fabric. Wool batting inside.
