Water Lilies on Yellow by Ann Fahl
Small pieces of yellow fabric are fused together to form a sheet of fabric, that creates an interesting textural background. Then a stylized water lily is cut into segments and embroidered in place. The lily pads are made from a sheer violet tulle and stitched in two directions. I love they way they appear to float on the surface. The areas where they overlap are also interesting details. This is a very colorful textural piece. Now in a private collection.
