Three Water Lilies by Ann Fahl
This quilt is stunning. Three large water lilies are placed over green lily pads, all on a blue/black over dyed fabric. All are heavily machine embroidered to give life-like detail. Strands and clusters of dark iridescent seed beads are applied in a pattern to suggest water. The beading adds third dimension was well as surface texture to the design. The quilt is heavily machine quilted with dark blue rayon thread. In a private collection.
