It's Always Windy in Aruba by Ann Fahl
Created for my Valentine Card of 2024, the result of a trip to Aruba. It is very hot and humid there. Without the constant wind, it would be unbearable to be outside. I loved walking on the beach where all the palm trees were leaning in one direction. The background is a hand painted cotton, the trees are fused and embroidered onto the background. The "sand" is made from a commercial fabric. Hearts are scattered in and around the trees for Valentine?s Day. It is machine quilted with blending decorative variegated polyester threads. The outside edge was bound with a narrow blue and white striped fabric. Wool batting inside.
