Accidental Valentine by Ann Fahl
This is a tiny quilt made from left-over scraps of a quilt titled: Ann's Arbery, which is not yet finished. I added a few hearts to give it a Valentine theme, and will use this quilt on the cover of my 2025 Valentine card.
The black-eyed susan is the focus for the quilt, along with a crazy yellow cloud and heart. Each segment is fused and then machine embroidered with variegated threads to add detail to the little garden. Small extras like stars, flowers and circles add interest in the background.
The machine quilting is done with a yellow variegated thread in a pattern with linked hearts. A small border frames the quilt, and detailed with a decorative stitch. The edges are bound with a solid black bias binding. Wool batting. This was fun to make. It is signed and embroidered AHF in the lower left hand corner.
