In the Black-Eyed Susans by Ann Fahl
In August, black-eyed susans bloom all over the yard. By far they are my favorite flower. (In some of my other quilt galleries, you'll find more of them.) They brighten the dark spots in the yard. A small bouquet brightens the table through the month of September. To me they are " sunshine in a vase." One day, Oreo decided to plunk herself down, right in the middle of a big clump of flowers, to watch the bugs flit around, and rest from a stressful day. I wish I was small enough to do that.
