Waiting for Breakfast by Ann Fahl
Oreo sleeps in the basement at night. When I go to get her in the morning I find her waiting on top of the water heater! It's a nice warm spot, but not too cozy among all the pipes and vents. She races up the stairs and is ready for breakfast. First she eats her own food, then she licks the bowl from my "Power Oatmeal."
She is fused and embroidered onto a gray patchwork background; and surrounded by machine appliqued pipes of cotton or silk. The water heater is fabricated from silk and sheer fabrics. The piece is heavily machine quilted over wool batting.
